The following is a list of UPZ programs that we can help you bring to your campus:
Speakers
Kobi & Yusuf
Kobi was born into a Hasidic family, spent his high school years as a Jewish Settler and now lives in NYC as a peace activist. Yusuf was born in Gaza, shot by Israeli soldiers, rehabilitated in an Israeli hospital, and is now a peace activist living in Boston. Together they tell their stories as an Israeli and a Palestinian who should have been radicalized, but have instead turned toward peace.
Cost: $400 and travel for one individual from NYC and one from Boston, accommodations (home stays welcome) and food.
B’tselem – Israel Human Rights Organization
B’tselem endeavors to document and educate the Israeli public and policymakers about human rights violations in the Occupied Territories, combat the phenomenon of denial prevalent among the Israeli public, and help create a human rights culture in Israel. B’tselem recently opened a Washington office and is excited to bring their message to American campuses. The exact topic to be discussed depends on the time that they have to speak, the ‘hot’ topic of the day, the expected audience, etc., but some possibilities include: Media as an Activist Tool, National Security vs. Human Rights, Human Rights of the Palestinians (general overview), Accountability, Restrictions on Movement, Settlements, Administrative Punishment, The Separation Barrier and Torture.

Dotan Greenvald, Breaking The Silence
Dotan Greenvald, a 26-year-old former Israeli soldier and member of an Israeli veteran’s organization called Breaking the Silence, is available for speaking engagements. Formed in 2004, Breaking the Silence is an organization of veteran Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers working to shed light on the moral, human and social price paid by both Palestinians and Israelis for the IDF’s actions in the occupied territories.

Two Peoples, Three Opinions
A Jewish-American and Palestinian-American spoken-word artist duo, team up to run a writing workshop, do a performance and host an Open Mic where students can perform pieces they identify with or have written.
Cost: $2,000 honorarium and travel for one individual from NYC and one individual from Chicago, accommodations and food.
Elik Elhanan
Elik Elhanan is a member of Combatants for Peace, an organization of former Israeli and Palestinian militants who have renounced violence and embraced non-violent change as well as The Parents Circle, an organization of Israelis and Palestinians who have lost family members due to the conflict and have embraced non-violence as a path forward.

UPZ can assist in bringing speakers from J Street, Middle East Progress, Americans for Peace Now, Israel Policy Forum, Century Foundation and US Institute of Peace, as well as others.

Films
UPZ/Other Israel Film Festival Campus Program
UPZ and the Other Israel Film Festival are proud to announce the UPZ/Other Israel Film Festival Campus Program. Films exploring the lives of Israel’s Arab citizens are now available for campus screening at significantly reduced prices. All films will come with a discussion guide to build a program around the screening.
The following critically acclaimed films are available: 6.5 Minutes in Tel-Aviv, The Red Toy, Roads and Dark Night.
If there is increased demand for the films and we are able to have multiple screenings, we might be able to show the films at a lower cost, but for now the prices are set. In you are interested in this program, let us know!

Encounter Point
The Encounter Point documentary follows a former Israeli settler, a Palestinian ex-prisoner, a bereaved Israeli mother and Palestinian brother who risk their lives and public standing to promote a nonviolent end to the conflict.
Cost: $350 (as long as you don’t charge and shown in educational setting and not open to the wider public) otherwise $1,000. An additional program featuring a post-film facilitated discussion is also available.
Eyes Infinite Films
This is an innovative documentary series that portrays the conflict through the eyes of Israeli and Palestinian artists. “Mandatory Service,” one of the EIF short documentaries, won the shorts category at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival. Facilitated workshops can directly follow the films along with conversations with Film directors.

Trainings and Facilitations
Organizing Trainings
UPZ hosts trainings specifically geared toward organizing Jewish students to advocate from a pro-Israel, pro-peace perspective.
Cost: $150 plus travel from NYC, accommodations and food.
Jewish Dialogue Group
Dialogue sessions designed to create a safe space for dialogue about Israel within the Jewish community. Each facilitator can accommodate 5 to 7 participants. Additional fees may apply for travel and housing.
Cost: $150 per facilitator.

National Programs
5th Annual National Student Leadership Conference
UPZ students from across the country will gather in Washington, D.C. between February 13-15, 2009 for skills trainings with UPZ staff, educational sessions with policy experts, as well as strategizing for the spring semester.
Triannual “Peace, Pluralism and Social Justice” Taglit Birthright Israel Trips
Twice during the summer recess and once during winter break, UPZ teams up with the New Israel Fund to host a unique “Peace, Pluralism & Social Justice” Taglit Birthright Israel trip.
National Campaigns
Every semester, UPZ brings together campus groups for a national campaign organized around a common theme.
Conference Calls
Monthly conference calls allow UPZ students to network, discuss activities and challenges on their own individual campuses and plan collective activities. Policy experts are frequent guest speakers on the call.
Summer Internship Program
Summer interns help plan fall programming and campaigns, future conferences and other important tasks. The program also allows the UPZ to create a deeper connection between student activists and the national organization.
